Indeed. In a slightly different context, I was working (pre- my testing career) in a national Government organisation and we were setting up regional offices. My immediate boss kept having conversations with Regional Managers along the lines of “You are _ **the** _ Regional Manager. You don’t have to ask permission to do _that_.”
