I want to make better use of AI tools in my business, especially for tasks like writing reports, summarizing documents, and analysing customer feedback. The problem is that much of the information we work with is confidential, and I am not comfortable uploading customer details or internal business data without knowing how it will be handled.

Avoiding AI completely does not seem like the best solution either, because these tools could save our team a lot of time. I am trying to understand how businesses can get the benefits of AI without putting sensitive information at risk.

For example, would removing names, email addresses, phone numbers, and other identifying details before submitting information to an AI tool be enough? Or do businesses need a dedicated AI privacy solution that can automatically detect and anonymize sensitive data before it is shared? I also wonder how companies can make sure employees follow the same privacy practices when using different AI applications.

I imagine many businesses are facing the same challenge as AI becomes part of everyday work. What practical steps have you taken to protect customer information while still allowing your team to use AI effectively? Have you found a reliable way to balance productivity with data privacy?
