I wonder if any of them have started providing any basic employee rights to workers, sick pay, annual leave, health insurance etc?
Some of it still seems a bit like competition based testing which can bypass minimal recompense ideals for hours contributed.
Some companies may be uncomfortable to be associated with that.
Not that I know of, they are all favoring the “gig” economy.
I am not even sure some of the places qualify as gig, bit like you want a document delivered so print out 50 copies and give to 50 drivers and only pay the first one who delivers the document in good condition.
Maybe there is another name for it, competition based gig seems close.
It can work but I just think they could perhaps be a bit more honest about this is what it is.
