🤖 Day 1: Introduce yourself and your interest in AI

Hey there! A bit late on my end, but here I am!

Cotopaxi Lyon, Founder and CEO of Lyon Quality Assurance - a boutique QA shop. I come from a manual testing background, and have spent the past four years running another QA startup. I parted ways with the previous company to start my own company that can center the humans in tech, and that can slow down to do things right.

I am interested in how AI can make our testing and processes more efficient. I firmly believe that while AI can absolutely support our work, so much of what testing is about is finding the gaps in communication between product and devs and that it will take quite some time for AI to get there.

I aim to learn how to best use AI to our advantage, as well as to learn what to be aware of in terms of pitfalls/risks with AI.

Hi all!
I heard the challenge of a little bit late, I will try to catch you up, guys! Let’s see (:
I completed a QA-Tester boot camp and had internship experience around 1,5 years ago. I was away from QA for a while but here I am.
I have an educational background, I started to look at how AI affects education. During my research on it, I became interested in how AI changes and reshapes testing.
In the beginning, it seemed kind of scary, but with this challenge, I believe I will be more familiar with AI in testing.
Thanks

Hello everyone,

I’m thrilled to be part of this community and excited to embark on this 30 Days of Testing challenge. My name is Ishita Rai, and I come from a background in Quality Assurance (QA) testing in the tech industry, specifically in software development.

My journey into testing began during my undergraduate studies in computer science, where I discovered my passion for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products. Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of working in various roles within the QA domain, honing my skills in manual and automated testing, test planning, and defect management.

My interest in AI in testing sparked from witnessing the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies. I see AI as a game-changer in the testing landscape, offering immense potential to enhance testing processes, identify patterns, and improve overall efficiency. The prospect of leveraging AI to automate repetitive tasks, predict defects, and optimize testing strategies excites me tremendously.

Throughout this challenge, I aim to deepen my understanding of AI in testing and explore its applications in different testing scenarios. I’m particularly eager to learn more about how AI can augment test automation, assist in test case generation, and facilitate intelligent defect analysis.

My goals for this challenge include:

  1. Gain a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of AI in testing.
  2. Explore practical applications of AI techniques in improving testing processes.
  3. Experiment with AI-powered testing tools and frameworks.
  4. Collaborate with fellow testers to exchange insights and experiences in AI-driven testing.

I believe that by participating in this challenge, I’ll not only expand my knowledge but also build meaningful connections within the testing community. I’m looking forward to engaging with all of you, sharing experiences, and learning together on this exciting journey into AI in testing.

Hi everyone
First of all, thanks a lot for this great initiative!
I am Mathieu, & I am working for a french welfare instution.
I am leading a testing departement of around 40 testers (having mixed roles, from manual testing, to test automation development, test manager, & related testing tools support).
For the coming years, we -my department & the overal IT directions- will have to investigate & invest in the AI fields.
As far as I am concerned, joigning this brilliant communauty of MOT, would enable me to :

  • clear out nice marketing promises from concrete state of the art in AI (what is still a nice dream… & what is really possible to achieve by now)
  • identify & share common interests in some AI opportunities such as :
    • automatic specifications analysis to purpose initial “tests path”, & subsequent test plan framework
    • advanced advisory on defect troubleshooting (by massive cross analysis of logs, specifications, components delivery,…)
    • advanced advisory on automated tests maintenance (by indentifying possible changes & correlations of impacts)

I have got also some doubts/questions about :

  • economical models that will come with AI (in terms of subscriptions/costs)
  • environmental impacts of AI usage (as it used huge IT ressources to produce results)

Well… I have a lot to learn

  • Introduce yourself: Hi, my name is Jiří and I have been in QA for over 10 years. First I tested a complex software system with numerous applications, then I moved to mobile applications and worked on more than 15 mobile projects. At the moment I am also interested in leadership, coaching and people in general  I found this community by attending 2023 30 days challenge.
  • Your Interest in AI and Your Goals: I often think about what it means to be a tester. I have come to believe that it is more about their creativity, curiosity and way of thinking than how well they use a set of tools. So I would like to learn AI to cover some routine things so that I can focus more on the rest. I can mention test case generation or automation maintenance.
