Hello I am also after a mentor. Ive been doing manual testing for over seven years and I am looking at Automation testing. Automation can be a bit tricky and very hard to grasp for newbies such as myself. I have even asked questions about Automation on this forum. I do feel I would benefit a lot from someone who can guide me through the correct ways of Automating. I have some basic foundation of Java and Selenium web driver which I hope is enough. **who you are** My name is Margot Berger, I’m a lone software tester at a Start-up outside of Philadelphia PA **what you think you need help with** I came into the testing world almost 6 years ago. Since then, I have rose to be the Director of QA but have relied heavily on manual testing and screen recorders that generate python code that could be used for automated tests. **where you want to get to** I want to be able to have a better understanding of computer science so that I can begin to build a framework and automated tests. Hello folks, Greetings from Nebraska! Who you are: My name is Reese and I am a QA Manager and previous (and still) a manual tester for about 3 years. What you think you need help with: Same as many folks, guidance. I’m good at managing people from my previous experience as a Retail Manager at a cigar shop. I’m looking to further my QA career but I’m not sure what or where that leads. I’m dipping more into API testing with a mobile product but my company is a bit “all over the place” so it is hard to keep a focus. Anyway, I’m looking at college and other things but just don’t know where to go or do. Where you want to get to: As a “beginner” QA Manager that feels like I have great manual testing skills (always room for improvement), I’ve taken a task for automation (technical lead position has been added to my position) and just looking for training or career advice. Hello all, Hoping this thread isn’t dead, my name is James and I am a Software Test Analyst with \>5 years experience across various multinational companies, however in my current role I am one of the three QA’s in a company which is smaller than 50 people.
