Q is for Questions.
What else?
Q is for Quack, the noise a Duck makes
Q is for Quantitative, like the research strategy that focuses on quantifying the collection and analysis of data.
Quiescent State Testing - is done when a system is idle, to ensure proper behavior during periods of inactivity.
Think bank machines/ATMs which are tested during predicted periods of inactivity (overnight). Thermostats or security cameras, mobile apps running in the background, energy systems.
Qualitative Testing - focuses on non-quantifiable attributes like user experience, aesthetics, and satisfaction.
Think Netflix/Instagram doing qualitative testing with focus groups. Testers evaluate how intuitive the design feels, how the colors affect emotions, and if navigation aligns with user expectations. Video Games with sound affects or colour impacts, for instance, games like The Last of Us underwent extensive qualitative testing for its narrative and emotional impact. Airbnb, Amazon, Shopify etc. testing customer confidence.
Q stands for quickness :
how quickly our application respond, one of the major parameter in performance testing.
similarly how quickly our API responds to our query
Q also stands for queue like circular queue, or linear queue. etc.
