For those of us responsible for maintaining test automation frameworks, its important we keep abreast of changes to open source software we embed and use such as:-

- Deprecation
-
  - Major upgrades

-
  - Archived/Moved Repos

-
  - Major security issues

I have noticed a trend that in the past couple of months several such changes have appeared for QE related tools/libraries such as:-

**Extent Report formally discontinued Jan 2025** : [[Goodbye Extent Report: Introducing ChainTest for Next-Level Automation Reporting - Trending in Testing - Global Software Testing News](http://trendingintesting.com/chaintest-replaces-extent-report/)](https

**Cucumber moved back into open source Stewardship Dec 2024** - [Cucumber’s Next Chapter: A Community-Driven Future]([Cucumber’s Next Chapter: A Community-Driven Future](https://smartbear.com/blog/cucumbers-next-chapter-a-community-driven-future/#:~:text=Today%2C%20we%E2%80%99re%20announcing%20an%20important%20milestone%20in%20Cucumber%E2%80%99s,a%20vital%20part%20)

**Selenoid repo archived
Dec 2024**: [GitHub - aerokube/selenoid: Selenium Hub successor running browsers within containers. Scalable, immutable, self hosted Selenium-Grid on any platform with single binary.](https://github.com/aerokube/selenoid)

**SpecFlow end of life Jan 2025:** [[SpecFlow end-of-life has been announced • Reqnroll](http://reqnroll.net/news/2025/01/specflow-end-of-life-has-been-announced/)]

**Selenium Greed vulnerability July 2024** : [Protecting unsecured Selenium Grids against SeleniumGreed | Selenium](https://www.selenium.dev/blog/2024/protecting-unsecured-selenium-grid/)😕

I’ve heard about these things through a variety of different means (from Bluesky to work chats, to Ministry of testing posts, to LinkedIn or even testing newsletters) but it would be great if there were a community maintained list of thing, or is it just to big an area to achieve this?
