# What exactly do you do in Test Automation?

🎥 This is [an excellent keynote talk](https://youtu.be/pT20Ssc7y6I) from @mwinteringham.

I happen to watch it live online at the time and it was great to see my friend and work buddy share so many helpful reflections and advice. 😄 I do like Mark’s presentation style.

I like how what an Automator does is made explicit under these categories:

- Strategy/Planning
- Checks
- Frameworks
- Communication
- Testing Tools

Supported by a strong foundational knowledge of testing.
