What have you read? And what characteristic matters to you?
For me it would be:
Usability and Supportability.
I believe it is important to have a product that is easy to understand and use. There are many products that do what they need to do, but why not make them easy to use? That way there’s no dependency on other people, at least not 100%.
It is also important that any issue the user encounters is easily recognizable and possible to fix in order to have a positive satisfaction rate.
