I’m still hired and looking for opportunities.

I just recently moved from Japan to the US so I’m in need of a new job that can support the cost of living here. It’s almost been a month since I started applying and I could feel how tough the job market is. Most job postings have over 100 applicants only after 1 day of posting and it’s hard to get any response despite my work experience.

The market situation this month is very critical in India, now Samsung is laying off 20% workforce in the name of restructuring but the good thing is they are paying 5 months’ salary so people have 5 months to search for jobs, but that’s the case only for Samsung, Some companies are directly laying off without notice and severance pay and that has made the market more critical as people are ready to take a pay cut and it has bring the average CTC down which was already down.

Companies are looking for more skills in QA from the cost-cutting perspective I have seen some companies openly asking for familiarity with front-end and back-end both or being aware of AWS kind of thing, terraform, lambda, etc.
Job market is currently very complex for everyone.

Hello.

This is a very intersting topic. I live in Athens, Greece.

My background is web developer by using WordPress CMS. I’m currently unemployment and i work as a freelancer tester in UTest. If i continue as a freelancer i’ll choose additional platforms such as upwork… I’m searning for a job as a junior QA tester either on site or remotely.
The market is very demanding even for junior position. In my opinion HR people make very high standards and the situation is dissaponting.

That’s what i have to write. Thank you.

Georgios.
