Local admin to install automation components / applications


Would people share their experience (or relevant articles) of working with IT / Security on policies to provide people with local admin access (windows based) so that testers can develop automation. Joined a new organisation where everything is locked down, first time in years I have been blocked from control of my user account to build automation so wondering what other peoples experiences were of working through these challenges? I fully understand the need for security but want to present evidence and ways of working for exceptions such as development of software.
