Split testing (such as A/B), scraping (web etc.), screen, scrap (what should be done to a lot of useless tests), splunk, sleep (which tests shouldn’t do), single responsibility, etc. If you can wait a while, Dylan Beattie is doing videos on some concepts starting with (roughly) one letter a week, though software development, not just testing.

S is for Shigeo Shingo who played a major role in developing the Toyota Production System (TPS). My understanding is that Mary Poppendiek used his book on TPS when she developed Lean Software Development. More info about Shingo:

S is for Walter Shewhart. He was Deming’s friend and mentor. In 1924 he created Control Charts and in 1939 he created what came to be known as the Deming Cycle (plan-do-study-act). His importance can not be overstated. His memo of 16 May 1924 can be said to have started QA\QE\QC etc because it was the first time that a tool had been created that enabled managers to view the sytem as being reposible for qwuality and not the invidual worker: Gain insights by using control charts to analyse your performance test results – TestAndAnalysis

S for Shame

One of my senior in previous organization told me that if someone do not know the work then shame them.

I strongly ignored this fact and moved on with my approach of supporting the colleagues in building blocks of learning.

But I still remember the word Shame from his thoughts process.

Surprisingly in that organization I made my self level down wrt productivity.
