Accessibility Challenge: Is your company at risk due to poor accessibility?

Title: Evaluate if your company (or any company) is potentially at risk of negative impact due to lack of accessibility

Time: 30-60 minutes

Purpose:

This activity brings together everything you’ve explored in the course. You’ll assess whether a company—your own or another—is at risk of negative consequences due to accessibility issues. The goal is to help you identify risks before they lead to poor user experience, reputational harm, or legal trouble.

Activity:

  • Choose a website or app from any company you want to evaluate.
  • Download and complete the Accessibility Testing Plan Worksheet
    • Use the prompts to explore risks across:
      • Different types of disabilities
      • Common assistive technologies
      • WCAG 2.0 levels (A, AA, AAA)
    • Answer the risk questions and note your findings or gaps.
  • Share a summary of what you discovered. You might help others spot similar risks in their own context.

That’s a topic I want to evaluate for my command since a while.
Since we have a interconnected B2B product, accessibility might not play a big role for our commercial success. It’s about mobile network configuration and mostly the management decides if they want to have or not. Not individual users.

But still I want to see where we can improve our product so that those who are forced to use our product get a better experience.

I set myself a reminder.
