🤖 Day 1: Introduce yourself and your interest in AI

Hi all,

Dan here. My first time at MoT and started out as a tester approx 6 months ago so I am still learning what is what. Hoping to learn the most current/up to date tricks of the trade!

My name is Breno, and I have been working in the software quality field for 10 years. Currently, I am employed at a large payments/technology company in Brazil, holding the position of QA manager. I have experience with manual and automated testing, REST and SOAP APIs, performance testing, among others. I have worked with embedded systems, web, and mobile applications, which sparked my interest in AI testing. Observing the market and the increasing evolution of technologies using AI motivated me to become a QA professional with expertise in this area. Here in the community, I seek to learn and contribute to become a better professional every day.

Hello. Sorry for getting a late start here. My name is Sergio and I’ve been working in testing for most of my adult life. I’m currently working as a test manager in fintech.
My personal exposure to AI has helped me form new mental models for solving software development problems in the past year and I’m looking forward to more experimentation and exchanging ideas with the community.

Hi everyone,
I have over 10 years of experience in testing, currently work as in the healthcare IT industry.
I have heard a lot about AI last year and knew something/some area has been impacted by AI, very nice improvement by AI.
My interesting is how to use AI in the software testing.
Thank you very much!

Hi Rosie and MoT community!
I’m Lisa, from Cape Town (South Africa) and have been in testing for over 10 years - I LOVE it! I’m currently a QA lead at a small company and, while we are growing our team, the QAs are still swamped with work due to capacity.
We leverage AI to help us check code, write automated tests and check documentation, etc., however I do feel there’s more to learn about how AI can help. Excited to meet fellow testers and learn more AI :raised_hands:

Hey,

I’m Samuel from Germany. I’m a curiosity-driven software developer who went more into the testing space lately and I want to get a good understanding of how AI works, what are its limits and where to look at to check if it is doing the right things.
I’m not sure where this 30-day-journey will take me, but I’m curious and want to give in to this curiosity - good things often happen in these cases

Hello everyone

My name is Martin, I am currently QA engineer working remotely as a sole member of the QA team at a small company. I have 5 years of experience in the area, starting from manual testing. I want to grow to automation engineer.

As I work mostly alone testing the systems I need all the tools I can get to make myself more productive, and that is my main interest in AIs.

Morning!
Apologies for the lateness, I was on holiday.
My name is James and I have been a Test for around 10 years now. Currently I work with NHS Scotland and their Turas Learn product. This involves a lot of testing Power BI reports.

I am interesting in leveraging AI to assist me in the creation of custom tools that help me test better, either by doing things quicker, or letting me get deeper in the code to pinpoint issues.

Hi, I’m Katie and I currently work in the public sector, managing a small team of testers. I have seen the 30 day challenges before but have never signed up to one so thought it was about time! I know very little about AI (and if I’m honest, some it sounds a bit creepy) so looking forward to finding out more.

Hello,

I’m late joining this so please excuse that!

I’m Joe, I’m a QAT Analyst in the public sector and I was recommended this event as I need to further my knowledge of AI and how it applies to testing.

I’ve been looking to get involved in AI for a while and now have the opportunity to join a Microsoft copilot implementation project.

My goals are to realise how I can test AI & how I can use AI to help test.

Hi all, my background has been on the development side stretching back 30 years(scary!!). When younger developers ask what languages I have written in, I tend to get a look that would no doubt be similar if I rhyming off dinosaurs.

Currently I work with a legacy system and developing tests in .net/c#, with little use of tools
For the code i use co-pilot and love that it removes a lot of monotonous coding, but wonder what it thinks sometimes when it gives me a splurge of nonsensical code

my interest in AI is to see where it can assist us. I would also like to get more involved in more modern approaches to testing.

Goals, to see if it hype or for real. And how i can harness it to improve my skills and improve the tests i develop

Hi, i am Daïra and currently in position of test engineer and automation engineer. I am seeking to learn new ways to use AI to improve my day to day routine and i am very curious about testing practices and ethics within the context of AI. How will we keep quality and safety high within self learning systems and how will we adjust our test practices to do so? Hope to be learning lots.
