F1 fails social images accessibility (and an alt text tests poll)

I spotted this X post where dr georgie carroll offers to spend $100 on merch if (correct) alt text was used in F1 X posts. She did not end up spending any money.

Quality is everyone’s responsibility, in this case the marketing team.

What have people done to help these kind of situations?

And here’s a little poll on the topic for you:

For a company that you work at or recently worked at, does it pass or fail recent images it has used on social media?

  • Passed alt text test
  • Failed alt text test
0 voters

I think it needs to be “uses proper alt text” because I just came across

alt="No alt text provided"
