How does tax work for remote jobs from the UK?

Lately I’ve been thinking about applying for remote jobs, I’m based in the UK.

How does employment work if I were to apply for remote jobs outside the UK? Can anyone advise?

Hey @pwong.
It’s complicated.

But as a minimum, you’d be expected to submit a tax return in the UK and pay PAYE and NIC.
Where the complication lays is you may also have to pay tax in the country the employer is registered. It’s rare, but you should look into double taxation.

Having said that, any company that is looking to ‘employee’ you remotely, should be handling all this for.
