I had the amazing opportunity to travel to South Africa and give a talk at DevConf. It was my very first talk at an in-person conference ever (start small, right? ). But it turned out alright.
The talk is basically an Air Crash Investigations episode - but on a software development topic. I walk through the events that caused the software bug which crashed ESA’s rocket Ariane 5 in 1996. Even though it happened so long ago, the analysis is still relevant today - I think you might recognise most of the quality culture issues as something you see in your day-to-day work.
