I could really use a bit of help from this awesome community.
I’m trying to break into QA/Software Testing and been applying for junior roles and internships for the past couple of months, but no luck so far. It’s becoming really difficult to support my family without a job here in Pakistan, and the stress has started to take a toll on my mental health. I’ve been feeling quite low and even slipping into depression at times, but I’m still determined to make this career shift work.
If anyone has advice, knows of remote-friendly opportunities, or can point me towards internships/volunteer gigs where I can get some real-world testing experience, I’d be super grateful.
Thanks for reading and for any guidance or support you can share.
The MoTaverse is a good community to support folks who have been in similar situations.
My recommendation right now is to follow the steps in this guide.
The outcome will be that it will raise your profile, folks will get to know you, and it will increase the likelihood of you discovering your next job opportunity.
There’s no guarantee on when these things will happen, yet we’ve seen with plenty of community members that good things happen to folks who participate and become helpful community members.
I just checked out the 75+ Testing Practice Websites and honestly, it got my heart . Such an amazing resource!
Unfortunately, I can’t afford the certification right now, but I’ll definitely be building my portfolio and sharpening my skills using the practice websites. Really appreciate you pointing me in the right direction!
Perhaps once a week you could post something you learned via the MoT memories feature. It would solidify your learning and help others with your educational reflections, all while folks get to know you and your growing experience.
Something in my ADHD brain chimes with your state of family keeping and job hunting. To be fair, my brain wants to try to help everyone even if I really truly cannot help.
But I can wish you the best of luck, and encourage you Muhammad. May you find study avenues, that keep you motivated. Writing about what you learn is my motivator, and so sometimes I blog, sometimes… I actually have 3 different blogs and a YT. One of them is actually about computer-games, and something about writing things down creates A WITNESS. I switch between doing one, and then at other times the other. It all keeps me on track and means I am keeping my promise and other people can see I keep that promise every time I write a blog post. Sharing/writing is really A testimony ,if you like that word, give it a try.
