It’s too bad, the profiles don’t have a link field for like Github profiles.

What does the follow mean? Will you get notifications about this person?..starts to follow everyone anyway to see what happens

Right now, it doesn’t do a lot, but we’ll be building things into it to make it useful.

First step is to follow. Next step is to bring the information of the people you follow to you.

We launched the feature just as Andrew was going on holiday too, which is kind of funny, but it also gives us time to collect initial feedback and iterate.

So came across your Newsletter through your profile :
Women in Testing Newsletter

I’m not sure if I’m the right audience or not for your newsletter, but still out of curiosity, I subscribed to it and am looking forward for some great content from you. :slightly_smiling_face:

Of course! And, yes, you are the perfect audience. The newsletter is from multiple writers who are minorities so I’ve very excited about what their perspective will bring to the community. Also, happy to give you a follow back!

Hey follow-mania participants,

Come follow me here: Rahul Parwal | parwalrahul | Ministry of Testing

Also, some usability related thoughts after I participated in Follow-mania:

  • Can the follow work without the page refreshing? (just like with social media apps)
  • The visual clue from follow to following is enough for the users to know that they followed, do we need a header confirmation banner?
  • Can we have starter packs to follow people based on interests or certs or pro members or location or badges or something else?
