How do I get a Testing/Automation Job being new in the UK?

Get the most out of asking a question.
As an Immigrant with over 8 years of experience in Testing and automation with certifications in scrum and ISTQB foundation level. After moving to the UK I have been finding difficult to get a job in the UK Testing sector. After asking questions making enquiries and doing some research I discovered that the job market for QA testing is very oversaturated.

  • With daily applications on Linkedin/Totaljobs/Reed etc. Is there a forum where testing applicants can share their CV/Portfolio for recruiters to see or any ideas? The Job rejection emails I am receiving is making go nuts.
    How can I get help?

I understand the challenges you’re facing in your job search. It can be disheartening to face multiple rejections, but remember that this doesn’t reflect on your skills or experience. Many job postings end up going to internal candidates or referrals, so don’t take it personally.

Stay positive and consider these strategies to boost your chances:

  1. Build your online presence: Write articles for MoT and share insights on LinkedIn to showcase your expertise.
  2. Leverage your network: Reach out to connections who might provide warm introductions to HR professionals or companies. Remember, many organizations offer referral bonuses, so people are often willing to help.
  3. Engage with the community: Don’t hesitate to reach out here. The MoT social media channels can help amplify your job search by reposting your message.

Keep pushing forward – your persistence will pay off! The right opportunity is out there, and these steps can help you find it. Remember, every expert in our field once stood where you are now. Your skills and determination will lead you to success.
