Stuart has kindly supplied his slides from the talk - they are attached at the top.
We learnt from Stuart that Quality was a shared goal across teams, and that everyone should be encouraged to engage and promote testing throughout the development teams.
There is a balance between risk and reward from this perspective, and this is illustrated as well with regards to experimenting with different tools as well as the long difficult journeys to achieve test automation.
Support, mentoring and training should be provided wherever possible to help testers progress and move in their desired direction of expertise.
These developed new skills allow a βtreeβ branch spread of abilities across different areas of technical knowledge and therefore help the tester become multiskilled and highly technical. the creation of a dedicated Learning Charter has illustrated the commitment that Dunelm are showing and building in their desire to nurture and grow testing talent across the different paths of testing.
These newly skilled, technical testers are then well placed to begin their journeys and progress their careers higher and higher.
