Test.Bash(); 2021 - Share Your Current Tooling for Automated Testing - Marie Drake

We’ve learnt from Marie Drake a range of tools she and her team are currently using.

We’ll use this Club thread to share resources mentioned during the session and answer any questions we don’t get to during the live session.

Questions answered during the talk:

  1. Was there a lot of push back from developers/management to allow developers to help with test automation? If so, how did you convince them that this has value?

  2. Did you sense any change in the relationship between QAs and Developers as they worked together more? Did that make a difference to the end product?

  3. When you’re starting from no to low existing automation and have limited resource, how do you choose between the many parts of the test automation wheel?

  4. How long does the test automation take to run that you run on each branch?

  5. What is contract testing?

Questions we didn’t get to:

  1. How do you make sure the site works well on mobile browsers such as iOS Safari? Any automation done also there?

  2. Given this already-impressive automation setup, what do you think is the next priority / challenge to tackle with your company’s automated testing?
