@akazukin asked me yesterday where the Ministry of Testing Tester types came from. It’s not the first time I’ve been asked the question so I thought a Club post pointing to the original article made sense. If you follow the link to Tester Types - The e-book it will take you to the origins of many of the MoT monsters you see today.
There should be a Tester Type - personality test. Like MBTI or Insights.
You fill in 20-100 seemingly random questions, add some data based algorithm: TADA, that’s your Test Type and you’re put in a box!
Not sure if useful, but definitely funny.
As a Chuck Norris fanatic - it’s hard for me to imagine him as an “animal” with a “bad attitude” and I’m not sure he’s ever sweared in his life! This Tester Type reminds me much more of the Tasmanian Devil!

I’ve had this on my to-do list every since I found the ebook Was thinking of putting something simple together and hosting it on my blog. I better get on it now that the idea is public! Once I get a POC together it would be fun to crowd source questions; I’m thinking a bunch of “would you rather” questions that contrasts pairs of tester types.
The Pirate - raids systems and makes off with the best tests. The Pirate tester prefers to engage bugs in single combat and may in extreme cases try to sink developers. Pirates often claim to be white hat hackers, independent consultants, or team leads. They are never ordinary team members.
(Just what came to mind at the thought of a pirate tester)
