Can MOT have a freelance section like Upwork, but only for testing?

I was wondering if MOT can create a freelancing website like Upwork and Fiverr, but only for testing. Here is what I hope to get from such a website.

1 - It will enable testers, especially rookies, to make a portfolio of their testing experience with real projects.

2 - It will enable companies to find testers for full time or contract work (few hours to few months or more).

3 - It will enable people to get a sense of whether they should get into the testing career or not.

I guess that most companies might use this only for manual testing jobs, but the hope is that it will be used for test automation also.

How does this idea sound ?

Have you thought about the potential downsides or risks of this?

@andrewkelly2555 I haven’t thought about it, but I searched a little bit. I have shared some points that got my attention. I think that a team on MOT could vet the companies and maybe even the testers, for a fee. This might address most concerns. Maybe MOT could start this only for USA and EU to begin with.

Intense Competition

  • Overcrowding: Millions of users crowd platforms like Upwork or Fiverr, making it hard for new talent to get noticed.
  • Price dumping: Users on Reddit note that clients often expect professional work for tiny budgets because thousands of desperate bidders undercut each other
