🐤 Day 5: Set that Goal

Day 2 - we thought about how we can rest, day 3 we reflected, day 4 we constructed a 99 second talk. What’s next?

Think of an incredibly awesome software testing conference you attended (oh…TestBash is a great one!).

You likely encountered some amazing presentations, workshops and speakers that got you excited to get back to work, growing and your community. You probably left the conference with a big smile on your face, energised even if tired, inspired, and ready to take on the world. Your brain was filled with exciting ideas, new testing hacks, fun new methods, and endless resources to try!

But, what happens once you get back to reality? How do you take your conference experience and excitement and use your new ideas in your post-conference life? You’ve guessed it - set a goal for yourself. Learn to use that tool. Learn to write a talk. Read that book. Talk to someone about your personal development - it can be anything big or small - it is all important.

Day 5 Task:
Check your reflection notes, have a think about the following;

  • Read up our fab guide on making yourself a Customised Learning List
  • Try making a SMART goal. A SMART Goal is Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-bound. Maybe you’ve heard of SMART goals before. They can be incredibly useful for incorporating new ideas into your learning or tasks.
  • Could you sign up to one of our fab Learning On Demand courses

Set a goal and stick with it! Share your goal. Tell us how it made you feel and why you chose it. Holding yourself accountable can help you build an attainable goal for yourself.

Why Take Part:

  • Solidify Your Learning: Reflecting on your actions and how you achieved them helps embed the knowledge you’ve gained, making it more actionable. Could this be an opportunity to write or talk about this journey?
  • Inspire Others: Sharing your actions might spark ideas and discussions within the community, offering fresh perspectives to others.

We hope you score! :soccer:
