We see each other online, on LinkedIn, Ministry of Testing, and This Week in Testing. But sometimes a photo in a profile is not enough.
(Fun Friday topic, so please take it as seriously - or not as seriously - as you want)
What’s a good way to recognize a Ministry in Testing Team Member out in the wild? Maybe wearing some MoT merch? Or, wearing a special sticker? Bonus points for secret signals we can offer one another (no words or touching required)
I have never been to a TestBash (yet, hoping to!) but I imagine it would be kind of like trying to find those old friends you just met over the Internet. A profile picture is never quite enough.
I believe the easiest way to go would be with some MoT merch, maybe stickers, badges, or cheeky T-shirts. But secret signals would be so much cooler. Maybe something subtle, like holding up an invisible magnifying glass (because testers love to investigate, right?) or a little “double-check” sign.
For now, I’ll just be the one walking around excitedly asking, “Wait… are you MoT, too?”
If I have to recognize you @jmosley5 , it’s simple, I will just go to MOT Music league and will play the songs you submitted, and the lady who reacts first in the crowd, it i will realize it is Judy Mosley
Seriously, Stickers is a good idea. I saw an idea on the club I think where you have a sticker with your name and one word about you so we we can communicate with you the way you want. i.e. If you want to say “shy” then we’ll approach you more gently than someone who has a “chatty” sticker. Something like that?
How about we all carry around a rubber duck and give it a subtle nod when we see each other? If that feels too obvious, maybe a secret eyebrow raise bonus points if it’s in sync with the duck
