How does a Junior tester contribute towards Test planning?

Hi all,

This week’s task analysis session has been a challenging one, working out at what level Juniors are involved with the test planning process which is our next task in the Junior testing curriculum based on the Job Profile we captured with the support of the testing community.

Specifically, for this session, we were considering the following task:

Creating test plans

Combining a series of community activities including social questions and our curriculum review sessions to identify the steps we need to take to successfully achieve this task and have listed them below.

  • Learn about the process and templates used for planning testing
  • Ask questions to learn more about what is going to be tested and how
  • Use a test plan template to create a specific test plan for items under test
  • Communicate test plan details to stakeholders and team mates
  • Make improvements to test plans after feedback

What we would like to know is what do you think of these steps?
