Each week, a theme becomes available. As the user, you can add songs that fit that theme. Once the song submission time is up, the songs submitted are compiled in a playlist that is viewable to the league. Listen to all the songs and vote for your favorites!

Hopefully this platform is available to international users. A co-worker started a music league at work and it’s brought me so much joy. Hope to see you there.
I’m listening to music all day. Morning is usually some kind of hip hop or electronica. Afternoon (or once I’m a bit more awake) it’s usually drum & bass. It does depend what I’m doing though. If I’m trying to absorb something fast, heavy music doesn’t really help It certainly does if I’m trying to get stuff done though!
Oooh this is exciting! I didn’t know about music league but we do a weekly spotify playlist competition, the winner picks the next theme. I go through 2 different strategies:
Educate - select songs that I really love and that everyone else should love (that means I don’t win)
Win - Throw my dignity out the window, and select a song to play to the crowd (I still don’t win).
When desperate to win, I’ll ask my wife and kids to help but I know the songs they want will hurt me even more.
Ah! Sounds like so much fun! This is similar but themes are already selected and you can submit songs that you really enjoy. I mean, you can submit songs you think people will like but how would we get to know the real you?
I love music, the louder the better, and ideally live with lots of beer. But when I’m working I want total silence. In my view, you cannot concentrate on your work if you are listening to music, so the quality of your testing will be degraded. There might be a very, very small number of people with some neurological condition whereby music helps them concentrate, but most people don’t listen to music for that reason.
This used to really piss me off when I ran our test lab. I wouldn’t mind if people were doing the absolutely best testing they could possible do, but I often didn’t feel that they were. I need to caveat that by saying my team were outstandingly good and could outperform any other team I have encountered. But I felt they could and should have done even better. You’re selling yourself short if you don’t work to your maximum potential.
I hear you. My goal with the music league was to learn about the community’s music tastes. You don’t have to listen to music while you test. I just needed to come up with a decent title Happy to have you join if you decide to do so!

I never get bored of this song and it helps me zone out of the real world when I’m doing exploratory testing.
