I’ve been working on building a small ISTQB practice quiz page on my blog, aimed at helping exam takers prepare in a more interactive way. The quiz gives instant feedback and shows the correct answers, so learners can quickly spot where they need to focus.
I know a lot of us have taken (or considered taking) the ISTQB exam, so I’d love to get your thoughts:
Do you find practice quizzes like this useful for preparation?
What kind of features would make it even more valuable (e.g., timed mode, explanations, difficulty levels)?
Here’s the link if you’d like to give it a try: [Quiz Link]
Any feedback—positive or critical—would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!
This new feature is quite promising. I really appreciate the value of practice tests since they compel students to grapple with concepts instead of merely scanning their notes.
On the quiz itself, I’ve done some questions and I like the immediate feedback. It really helps the student to assess what the know and what further stretches of study are needed while working through the questions.
Regarding the features, I would highlight:
Providing an explanation to clarify why an option is right or wrong after each question would be a great help.
A timed mode would add value by simulating the real exam pressure.
Maybe a progress tracking across attempts feature would be good to show how the learner’s improved.
Looks fine in general thanks for sharing it with the community!
I don’t know if they would be useful to you: ITSQB have test exams on their pages (to each certificate), here’s the one for Test Manager (to the right, “sample exams”).
Otherwise a good idea, half the work with an ITSQB certificate seems to be to be able to work through the questions themselves. So training with those is a good idea.
As I’m myself in a path on ISTQB - sorry STEC but we still can be good friends - I find it hard to find exam material for OTHERS than CTFL. CTFL has a lot of projects or apps to support, and I remember using a very interesting Android app made of the 4 official sample exams + glossary + flash cards… but I missed it when I went for CTAL-TA and CTAL-TTA. So my feedback here would be : great tool, but unfortunately, again only for CTFL
A suggestion : I use GASQ sample exams for training in condition, but the report at the end is made of Learning Objectives like TA-2.1.1 that should be much well connected to the syllabus, so you can easily refer to what you missed.
