2025-05-16: What are your wins for the week?

I’m in a complicated space. While I’ve been struggling with some things, I feel like I’m ready to risk and take some steps towards larger goals.

My win for the week is taking super tiny steps. A step is a step. That’s been my mantra this week.

What were some of your wins? Would love to hear your experience.

I co-hosted This Week in Testing, for the first time making sure I set it up and took notes and pressed record. Woo!

Also, Leeds Atelier was fun, we create a photo collection from the event.

It was also a win to hear that @olly_f took the Test Management is Dead discussion to his team for internal conversations. It’s cool to see conversations started here can influence how people are thinking about testing. For me it’s a confidence booster, especially as I was outside of the testing scene for a while, it’s nice to know that I can bring good ideas to the table.

And having the conversation was in turn a win for me! I’ll add a summary of what people said to the post soon

  1. I did a presentation on my approach, organic quality without notes, at Leeds Atelier.
  2. I have learnt that I am not good at spotting lies.
  3. I only have bedsheets left to wash; normally, many more clothes are in my washing basket on a Friday afternoon.
  4. I got back to my morning gratitude practice after a few days of forgetting, which was not very good for my brain :brain:.

I’m cheering you on.

Right back at you @jmosley5.

  1. Very active on the club this week (maybe too much :grimacing: :folded_hands:)
  2. Coached team member on testing a different product breaking our knowledge silos and giving her the freedom to take critical eye on the test coverage
  3. Leader on the MOT music league…briefly but thats still a major achievement
  4. Influenced the product teams calmly and objectively to not mess with our test environments :baby_angel:

A step in the right direction @jmosley5 is one that moves forwards, it doesn’t matter how big the step is :folded_hands:

Started of the week on a down: I called out some members of my team during a retro for some actions in the past sprint that immensely infuriated and frustrated me.
The win is that the day after many of them came by my desk to discuss what happened, apologize for their part and ask if they did other things the past sprint that also led to my frustration.
I count the recognition and willingness to work on it my win for the week.
