Hi all,

I’ve spent a number of years testing (hardware then GUI/system) but now find myself ‘between jobs’ and that the industry has moved on/transformed around me. So I’m working through the Essentials to try to relight the fire, and looking at some automation courses (e.g. AiT and TAU).
There’s plenty of info out there to work through!

Cheers

Hey, welcome on board @robmac .
Do let us know where you are located, and take a peek at the jobs board Latest Testing Jobs | MoT too. At least in the UK, people are finding work quite quickly, holding thumbs for you.

Hi, my name is David, 31 yo and I’m from Belgium.

I am a Quality Assurance Engineer for a tour operator SaaS system and in the past for a medical software system.
I have been in the IT/Software industry for about 10 years but only fell into the testing role 2 years ago.
I am the only tester with 14 developers and have been doing automated UI & API testing.
I am primarily using WebdriverIO and Supertest, both with Mocha and chai.

Greetings,
Thank you for presenting me with the opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Aditya, and I work for a startup tech company in India as QA.
Although I have worked for 2 years, there is still a lot to learn with respect to the correct process and technology. I have done a little bit of API testing as well automation using selenium, but still have a long way to go. The road to becoming a professional SDET is a tough one.
Hope to get the most out of the community.
Thank you once again.

Welcome on board Aditya. Tough yes, and not even sure many of us would even say we are professionals, disciples probably, but the road to having that title is a long one. I’m 12 years in, and still learning so much, hope you will ask many questions so we can all help each other.

Hello all, my name is Anthony.

I am a senior Test engineer at a SAAS company in the midlands in the UK. I have around 6 years’ experience in testing in waterfall, agile and agile-ish environments.

I currently mainly focus on API testing, but have experience with web, a little mobile and desktop application testing also. I have experience in a range of different testing tools and programming languages and have worked across all the main operating systems and a couple of cloud provider environments also.

I pretty much just fell in to testing but it is something I really enjoy and am passionate about. I am here to learn as much as possible! I have already been an occasional lurker on this site for some time so thought time to introduce myself

Hey everyone

Thought you might be interested to know that Dan, one of the co-creators of MoT Essentials, will be hosting an Ask Me Anything next week on the topic. It’s open to everyone to attend live.

Hi, Rodi here. I’ve had an account for over a year now, but never really contributed. Wanted to change that, so here I am! I’m a senior Test Automation and Performance Specialist, working in the test world as a consultant for almost 9 years.
I’ve worked for quite a few customers, both for the government as commercial companies.
I like a good discussion, and also sharing knowledge. So if you have something cool to tell or you’re looking for information, don’t hesitate to send me a message!

Hi everyone! Introducing myself here attending the first quest from the course

I am Marlon Almeida, from Recife, Brazil. I’ve been testing software since 2010, always looking to keep myself up to date with new technologies, practices & approaches, tools and, – why not – relearning the basics of software development and testing. That’s why I am here. After seeing this course on TestBash Home '21, I decided to run through it and learn more about Software Development and Testing by @mwinteringham and @danashby directions.

Glad to be starting this! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Welcome @clafoutis & @vin to MoT!

It is the best

Is there an option that you can just say “no thanks”?

Hi

My name is Sameera

I’ve been a software developer for almost 5 years after taking a break from my profession, I decided to switch my career from development to testing. Someone recommended me this site to start with to overcome fears and tears of testing.

I joined Ministry of Testing to know more about testing tools and process.

Welcome here @samimaks and in the world of software testing !
It looks such an interesting switch after 5 years spent in development.
I personally feel not that technically strong in software development, the last development project I did my end of study project then started my first job in testing 6 years ago.
I enjoyed it so much, but started feeling the need of being more technical so I started recently, more investigations there …

Hello everyone! Anders here, newbie and quite experienced at the same time. I started testing telephone and mobile systems back in the beginning of the 90´s, sent probably one of the first text messages and so… Since 1999 I did not work directly with test, having been more involved in leading and managing programming projects. But now I have returned to test again, in a quite different world of Agile development and complex, ever changing web guis. I do want to talk test in this new environments with the same rationale as SW development always have had.
