Every quarter we start up a new introductions thread for folks to introduce themselves for the first time or to reintroduce themselves to the community again.
What brings you to The Club and Ministry of Testing community?
What interests you now?
What do you want to learn?
Where are you based?
What else could you share about yourself?
You don’t have to answer all these questions. Introduce yourself in a way that works for you. Use text, video, drawings, memes or whatever works.
We totally appreciate that some people like to step away for a while and come back. It’ll be great to hear from you again.
I want to learn, share, and socialize with other humans who work in software. The connections I’ve made with the Software Testing community via forums such as The Club have been amazing over the last few years, so I’m looking forward to connecting with you, or reconnecting with you if you’ve been away awhile and are coming back!
Right now I’m really going deep on how to tackle testing challenges better, by making use of collaborative testing. This means I’m spending more and more time with my team, and together we are helping each other get the right testing done and building in quality during development.
I’ve got a few different topics I’m learning right now, mainly sub-topics around going deep on Mobile Application testing. I’m keen on learning more about how to apply Security, Performance, and different levels of Automation, in the context of a mobile app.
I’m based in a small village in Nottinghamshire, England, UK that is near Sherwood Forest! I’ve not been to the Notts MoT meet-up often, although I really should make the effort more. I’m seriously looking forward to TestBash coming to Nottingham in 2024, and hope I can get myself there!
I love to celebrate anyone who is working to make software better. For a few years, I ran the daily award Tester of The Day, and I’m very slowly working on ideas on how I can bring some of this energy back, but in a new format and with a new focus.
Thank you to amazing humans, @christianbaumann and Al Goodall, who I had a great chat about this with during TestBash UK 2023.
Hi folks, I’m Emily and I’m based in Leeds in the north of England. I’ve recently got more involved with MoT since looking for resources on engaging teams unused to automation. I love the community and recognising people I’ve followed on LinkedIn for a number of years, you all teach me so much!
I’ve been a MoT member for just over a year and I love the people. I serve as QA for a small consulting firm and I enjoy the work and am always thrilled to speak with folks about their testing process and what they’re learning! I live in the state of Delaware and work remotely.
Right now, I’ve entered a busy season for community work. I’ll be speaking and the Pacific Northwest Software Quality Conference next week. I’m also facilitating the New Year, New Portfolio Challenge for Women Who Code. The challenge is set to go until the end of the year. I’m hoping that everyone who joins is able to publish or revamp their QA portfolio (including me)!
Hi y’all, this is Adriana, former QA for about 5 years, and Product Owner for a year and a half, based in Prague, Czech Republic.
Ministry of Testing is one of the most useful and inclusive communities, full of experienced people and large knowledge that can apply on any software product, and for a variety of roles.
I consider testing as an activity that anyone in a software product is performing, knowingly or not. Any touch of the product is a sort of testing.
Hence, I like to stay up to date with the latest trends, tools, and experiences everyone has and shares here.
I’m Georga, I’m based in the (currently not-so-sunny) south of England in Bournemouth!
I’ve been part of The Club for about 6 months now, and a QA for about 2 years (originally starting as a software developer apprentice!) - I’m now hoping to get involved more after attending my first TestBash last month and discovering just how incredible the MoT community is!
My main interests and things I’m looking to learn are automation testing (that very hot topic) and just generally learning every single tip and trick possible to make my part of the QA process as smooth as possible!
Hello, I’m Zoltan, currently, I am living in Sheffield (UK). My journey into testing was greatly influenced by the Ministry of Testing community, which played an important role in helping me transition into this field. I’ve been actively engaged in testing for approximately five years. Thank you MoT.
My primary motivation for being part of The Club and Ministry of Testing community is to connect with like-minded folks who share a passion for testing. I’m eager to contribute my knowledge and experiences while also learning from others in the field.
At this moment, my particular interests revolve around automation testing and web3.
Beside from my professional interests, I’m an avid enthusiast of climbing and bouldering.
I’ve been around MoT for awhile, but been a little quiet lately. BUT I just released a video this morning though, which is PERFECT for this thread. It’s a reintroduction of me to all of the communities and folks I’ve interacted with recently, as well as answering some questions from my LinkedIn followers.
Feel free to connect with me wherever the internet takes you <3
I’m Caleb Crandall, an SDET based in Indianapolis, Indiana (USA) with over 11 years of experience in development and testing. I view testing as a serious, skilled profession so you’ll probably occasionally see me here or on LinkedIn trying to elevate how we talk about ourselves and the work we do.
On that note, sounds like I’ll be joining @fullsnacktester and @parveenkhan for a panel discussion at TestBash Autumn! Looking forward to it!
Finally, I’m open to remote work! I’d love to lead and grow a great test team at a company serious about delivering a reliable, quality product to their users.
I am Mark with over 25 years expereince in software development and testing. I attended my first testbash last month and joined this community on here shortly after. I am based in Hertfordshire
My passion lies in test automation but interest is spreading to performance testing for the first time in my career as we have introduced k6 to the company and are loving it.
My name is Ifechukwu, and I’m relatively new to the testing industry with ongoing exposure to both manual and automated testing. I am currently based in Manchester, UK. I joined this community as it was recommended to me by two amazing women who are members of this community.
At the time, I am interested in automation testing with an intention to put more projects and experience on my portfolio. I am looking forward to receiving tips, guidance and invitations from members to work on projects together.
