Currently we have to go to the office 1d/week.
Our other consultants also have to go 1-2 days a week to the office. Anything above usually gets rejected I wouldnāt want to go to the office 3d/week either anymore.
Iām fully remote and have to travel for meet-ups which happen at least once every 3 months and may or may not be in the office (which is about 1.5 hour commute). Iāve been with the company for about 2.5 years and probably been to the office 10 times. Maybe even less than that.
I only take remote roles and priorities opportunities that prioritize remote roles. I need flexibility not only in my schedule but in my location. As a mom of three young children, it was very necessary. As someone who recently supported someone in another state with an illness, it was not only necessary but crucial. I know that remote roles are harder to get and Iām SO grateful to be in the position Iām in today.
Currently itās 1 mandatory day in the office.
With changing the company it may become 2-3, but I donāt want to go above 3 anymore. Better 2,5 or 2.
Iām fully remote. I donāt know if Iād like going back full-time. The additional travel time and extra travel expense just arenāt worth it, unless I got a massive pay bump.
Today Iām sitting in our wonderful office, Iām the master DJ running tunes on the office wide sonoās system.
Having a coke by our swimming pool as I plan my days testing with six apps on the agenda for today.
I am alone though so far today and I do miss the daily interaction levels.
Its a small crowd in our Asian office so the hybrid 2 to 3 days a week in the office can be hit and miss on whoās in on any given day.
The hybrid model is encouraged a bit more these days and most people are fairly happy with it, I doubt we will go back to office only but most accept a level of value from office work alongside a level of flexibility.
One element or trend I noticed since the start of covid though is that the average team member has aged, the average level of experience has gone up and its almost like everyone is a consultant to some extent. As a SaaS company this works well and is seen as a strength but the downside is less fresh graduates bringing different perspectives to the team.
Full remote and fast tracking juniors in my own personal view is much more challenging and potentially that can impact the general profile of the team. Thatās something I would flag for companies to consider carefully when they consider approach to which model works well.
Wonderful question and a poll which I havenāt answered the past years
Well, I am working hybrid, but probably 95% of my time from my office at home and then once or twice every one or two months I am appearing at one of our office locations. Either for collecting some magazines or goodies (a few years back some MoT merch ) and trying to fetch some office gossip and connecting with new coworkers. Or when I am attending further trainings and broadening my knowledge.
I am very productive at my home office setup and when I am in office I do lay remote meetings to another time, so I can concentrate connecting and communicate with people offline.
Iām 100% remote, or you could say 99.9%. Iāve been into the office a small handful of times over the last 3 and a half years. But then, Iām based in the East Midlands in England, UK, and the office is in Berlin Germany.
OK there is a London Office now, but Iāve yet to visit. I donāt goto London often, it takes longer and is more expensive then going to Germanyā¦ OK that is an exaggeration, but not by much.
What XD thatās still insane! Itās funny that traveling to another country āoverseasā is cheaper then traveling to another place in your country
OK this isnāt a totally fair equivalency, because there are other costs with flying, and once you get to Berlin airport you need to get to the office, and that is extra cost on local trains.
But cheapest return from East Midlands Airport is like Ā£29 and to London Ā£57, going and returning the same days. Yes, it isnāt apples to apples and flying would end up costing more. But itās still mad.
It is hard to believe some times with some peoples reaction in going into the office - that prior to 2020 - in my experience, it was always 5 days in the office, with the occasional WFH day - Thankfully, we are classed as āhybridā but nothing is enforced - we tend to go in 1 (sometimes 2) days a week and its actually great to see people - albeit, my productivity levels are lower when I am in the office (because I talk to much lol)
