I’m new here, so I hope I’m doing this right, please let me know if I’m not.
I’ve been working as a Software Tester for around 4 years, and have just started a new role as Test Analyst, I’m currently the only tester and am part of a small team working on a web based project.
I’m looking for an easy to use test management tool, that doesn’t cost a fortune and is compatible with Jira. I’ve looked into a few options and I’ve found them really hard to get my head around. Admittedly I’m new to Jira, so perhaps that’s why. Does anybody have any experience with something like this?
For context, I’ve used a variety of tools in the past such as Target Process, Test Rail, etc. but all independent of Jira. I am looking for something to store, manage and run my tests during our release cycle.
I think Xray and Zephyr are the Jira add-ins for testing I’ve heard about most frequently, but I can’t speak to pricing. We use Xray and I’m pretty happy with it, mainly because it’s fairly flexible and doesn’t dictate a particular workflow for testing too much.
Very nice first question, by the way–you included a good amount of context and background, which is really helpful for people being able to answer without first having to ask a bunch of followup questions to draw that information out. Well done and welcome!
Thank you both! I’ve dabbled with X-ray in the past, but found that I had some sticking points. I’m going to give it another go, how do you find them support wise?
Hi there, Gil from Testuff (testuff.com) here.
Our test management solution has integrations with practically any tool (bug trackers, automation, project management, etc.) and that includes a two-way integration with Jira with a Jira app we’ve developed to enable getting testing data directly within Jira (so Jira users don’t need a Testuff license). These integrations are just on top of a comprehensive test management solution, over 15 years in the market offered at a very competitive price.
Give it a try and ask our support any question you have while trying it.
