Zendesk chat-bot overlay causing performance issues

We are looking into the performance of our website (mobile and desktop), and noticed that our Zendesk chat-bot overlay seems to be responsible for 2 seconds, or more, of the site’s load time. Has anyone had a similar issue with their product? If so, are you able to share how it was eventually solved?

These kinds of chat plugins usually come with their own scripts, which can be blocking - you should either see if you can load them asynchronously, defer their load, or lazy load them - they chat doesn’t need to be the first thing that is available to the visitor, it’s fine to load it a few seconds after the actual site has loaded.

Thanks. That’s the avenue we’re starting down.
It’s just frustrating that our site loads pretty quickly then is hamstrung by a bloody plugin! :slight_smile:
