Find and follow five testing tool developers on social media – 30 Days of Tools, Day 23

It’s Day 23 of the 30 Days of Tools challenge.

Find and follow 5 testing tool developers on social media

  • Where might you find these developers? Perhaps try Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram.
  • What tools are they developing?
  • What are they sharing with the community?

Feel free to reply to this post and share wherever you like, on the MoT Slack, LinkedIn, Twitter using #30DaysOfTools, Racket, your blog, with your team and any place you feel might inspire yourself and others to do the same. Let’s learn from each other throughout October. Visit the 30 Days of Tools page and select the “Subscribe to Topic” button to receive each daily challenge direct to your inbox.

:point_right: Have you seen the amazing schedule and registered for Test.bash();?

It’s on October 28th, 10am-10pm UK time. Available with a Pro Subscription or you can purchase a ticket.

Posting from the future? :stuck_out_tongue: 1 day to early! XD
I’ll get right onto the challenge!

Here’s my list of some of the tool authors I’m following:

  1. Sanjay Kumar - the fellow behind the SelectorsHub and TestCase Studio.
  2. Johan Haleby - the developer behind REST-Assured
  3. Simon Stewart - major Selenium contributor and lead
  4. Larry Goddard - creator of klassi-js - you can check out his testing framework on GitHub
  5. Abhinav Asthana - founder of Postman

I mostly stumble upon interesting profiles by checking Twitter’s recommendations on who(m) to follow, based on what people I’m already following are following, there’s a lot of following involved!

Oops sorry about that, please make sure to check out Challenge 22.

For this challenge I’ve created a list of tools on Twitter

I was not easy… I went to github, then to linkedin (I’m not using Twitter).

I choose:
Gojko Adzic (bugmagnet: Introducing Bug Magnet)
Abhinav Asthana (postman)
Peter Thomas (karate he wrote a nice article on API contract testing API Contract Testing - Visual Guide)
Julien Botella (orbiter smarttesting
Matt Fellows (pact mefellows (Matt Fellows) · GitHub)

Folks I follow:

  1. Simon Stewart - Selenium lead
  2. Andrey Lushnikov - Playwright lead
  3. Aslak Hellesøy - Cucumber lead
  4. Hadi Hariri - Kotlin @ Jetbrains
  5. Tom Akehurst - Wiremock lead

I haven’t used twitter lately, so I don’t know much about what they are sharing. Andrey just shared a video about Playwright 1.16 which was quite interesting. Simon has been sharing things about the Selenium 4 release. Hadi was sharing about the Kotlin conf that just happened as well.
